When an employee is separated from my company, am I required to provide anything in writing to that employee?

Yes, under Georgia law, each employer is required to give each employee a separation notice when the they leave the employment of the employer.  The separation notice should contain detailed reasons for the employee’s separation.

How do I qualify for unemployment insurance benefits, and where do I go to get help?

If you are unemployed through no fault of your own and are looking for another job, you may apply for unemployment insurance benefits either online or at a DOL Career Center. Access the online application, or find a career center near you.
