Tax refund processing times vary and depend on the accuracy of the original return, but you'll get your refund more quickly if you file your return electronically.
- If you file electronically, your refund should arrive within two to three weeks.
- If you file a paper return before April 1, your refund may take seven weeks to reach you.
- If you file a paper return after April 1, expect to wait 10 weeks before your refund arrives.

If you owe money to a state agency, that agency may ask that its payment be taken out of your state tax refund. The offset notice tells you exactly how much money you owed and what agency requested payment.
If you want more information about your specific offset, contact the agency that received payment. View a list of these agencies.
