Macon's Cherry Blossom Festival
The 2004 Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon was held March 19-28. Its theme was "What a Wonderful World," honoring Australia, Japan, Ghana, the United Kingdom and the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Macon’s storied tradition that began thousands of years ago has been traced back and represented by their monuments. Macon has more listings on the National Register of Historic Places than any other city in Georgia. The city auditorium has the largest covered copper dome in the world and the Hay House, built in the 1850s, is a historic museum.
