The Motor Vehicle Division works with county tax commissioners to issue license plates and certificates of title. MVD also records vehicle liens and security interest information and runs the Dealer Registration Unit, Sponsor/Special Tags Unit and the Commercial Vehicle Unit.
Within 30 days of either establishing state residency or purchasing a new vehicle, you must visit your County Tax Commissioner's Office to register your car, truck, trailer, motorcycle or motor home and apply for a certificate of title.
Renew your vehicle registration online or visit your County Tax Commissioner's Office to do the same.
Update your name and address on your driver's license first. Then update the information on your vehicle's registration and title by visiting your County Tax Commissioner's Office.
