State Charter Schools Commission Votes on School Recommendations
March 27, 2013
Last fall, voters across Georgia passed a constitutional amendment that now allows the state to accept applications for and approve new charter schools.
Today, in its first set of decisions, the State Charter Schools Commission will vote on recommendations for a number of new charters. Commissioners will send a list of approved schools to the State Board of Education next Friday.
The votes today affect only the schools eligible for the expedited petition cycle. The commission will post applications for the regular petition cycle on Monday, April 15.
