Governor Reviews 2013 Legislation
Yesterday, Governor Nathan Deal extended support to both businesses and veterans by signing House Bill 188 into law. The bill speeds professional licensing for veterans and their spouses who hold certifications as electrical contractors, journeyman plumbers, conditioned air contractors, utility foremen and residential-light commercial contractors.
“The licensure bill will better serve our returning heroes by ensuring that they move into qualified trade positions more quickly upon their return," Deal said.
The bill is among several the governor will sign into law during the coming weeks.
Among other bills Governor Deal has already signed this year are ones that address the shortfall in state Medicaid funding, allow nonpartisan elections in Macon-Bibb County government and expand the definition of Schedule I drugs.
During the next few weeks, you can track legislation on the governor's site at 2013 Bills Signed.
