Your State Parks Day
Georgians will be able to get closer to nature for free this Saturday, September 28.
Parks across the state are participating in the annual Your State Parks Day by offering free admission and parking to the public. This event is designed to encourage Georgians to visit their local state parks, take part in community service and see what nature has to offer.
In addition to free parking and admission, parks will be offering service projects and volunteer opportunities for all ages. Projects planned for the day include clearing debris, river cleanup, as well as family-friendly activities such as wiffle ball games and golf tournaments. Participants in the service projects will receive discount vouchers for future visits as well as a free t-shirt as thanks for doing their part to better Georgia’s natural parks.
Your State Parks Day is sponsored by the Friends of Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites, and is hosted in honor of National Public Lands Day.
