Emissions testing isn’t just another item on a car owner’s checklist; it helps all of us breathe a little easier.
As a mandate of the Clean Air Act, annual emissions testing identifies vehicles that emit a harmful amount of pollutants into the environment. Since 1996, Georgia’s Clean Air Force has found and repaired almost two million vehicles that were heavily polluting the air we breathe.
If your vehicle fails an emissions test, it is recommended that you have it repaired by a certified repair technician. View a list of further instructions as well as the contact information of certified technicians in the RepairWatch Public Report.
For more information on emissions testing, visit the Department of Motor Vehicles.
