Georgia State Parks Host Fall Fishing Contest
November 19, 2013
Georgia’s state parks offer exceptional fishing opportunities, from large lakes to trophy trout streams. Most parks offer boat ramps and fishing docks—including some wheelchair accessible docks. Many parks also rent fishing boats and canoes. For tips on where to fish, visit the fishing page on the Georgia State Parks website.
This fall, anglers of all ages can enter the Georgia State Parks “Reelin’ in the Prizes” fishing contest. Simply take a snapshot of your catch (bass, trout or catfish) at one of the measuring signs in the parks and e-mail it to FishingChallenge@gastateparks.org by December 1.
Those who catch the largest fish could win a multitude of prices, such as:
Bass Pro Shops gift certificates
Fishing gear from Shakespeare
A Big Green Egg
First- and second-place winners will also enjoy a celebration dinner hosted by TV host O’Neill Williams.

Take a picture of your fish with the provided ruler and submit it to FishingChallenge@gastateparks.org by December 1 to win prizes!
