Corporate Registration Deadline Extended to May 31

January 22, 2014
Georgia's Secretary of State, Brian Kemp speaking into a microphone

In January 2013, the Secretary of State’s Corporation Division implemented a new online filing system for entities registered with the state, known as cGov. While some users experienced technical issues when the site went online, the Secretary of State  remains committed to providing a more stable, secure and user-friendly site. As a result, the Secretary of State and staff worked relentlessly to identify any issues and have since resolved the majority of outstanding issues ranging from improper payment to search errors in the past year.

While the 2014 Annual Registration Period did encounter an early compatibility issue with Internet Explorer 11, the issue is now resolved.

Users who frequent the site sent in feedback on ways we could improve over the past year.  One example of this is the newly added officer search function. The new feature allows individuals to search for registered businesses by merely searching the name of an officer associated with that entity or multiple entities.

Although the site is over a year old, some users are still adjusting.  As a result, Secretary Kemp has once again extended the Annual Registration Deadline to May 31. While the site is more stable and provides many benefits, Secretary Kemp is committed to Georgia being the number one state to do business and asks for any suggestions on how to improve the site.

If you have any suggestions or any issues regarding the 2014 Annual Registration Period, please email our office, call the Secretary of State’s Corporation Division at (404) 656-2817 or reach out to us via Facebook.
