October Is National Disability Employment Awareness Month

The opportunity to earn a living and be self-supporting is a broadly held goal by Americans. Work is a foundation of stability for individuals and can give one’s life meaning and purpose. Unfortunately, the rate and level of employment for people with disabilities is staggeringly low. Labor force participation is 22% for people with disabilities as compared to 69% for people without disabilities.

To promote cyber security throughout the state, the Georgia Technology Authority's Office of Information Security has assembled online resources for homes, schools and offices.

Last Day to Register to Vote

October 9, 2012

If you'd like to vote in the November 6 General Election, you'll need to register by today. To register, you must be a U.S. citizen and a legal resident of the county you're registering in, and by election day, you must be at least 18 years old. You can register online, fill out and send in a Voter Registration Application, or visit your county voter registration office.

Georgia State War Veterans Homes to Charge Daily Fees

Starting in January 2013, Georgia State War Veterans Homes will charge veterans a reasonable, daily fee of $22.42 to cover medical and nursing care expenses. The local veterans’ service offices in Augusta and Milledgeville will help veterans apply for federal benefits to defray these costs.
