Sitting in southwest Georgia, Boston incorporated in 1870. Though Creek and Apalachee Indians once thrived in the region, a wave of white settlement displaced the people of those native cultures. Today, despite - or perhaps because of - this troubled history, collectors prize their arrow heads and other American Indian artifacts.

Boston is possibly the smallest town in the United States to have a Carnegie Library. Built in 1913, the library went through renovations in 1992.
