Although the area had been occupied since 1736, Dasher didn't establish a post office until 1888, and it wasn't until 1893 that Dasher officially established as a town. Soon after, in 1902, developers built a small rail station.
Dasher formally incorporated in 1968, and in 2008, the community opened a park and museum to display the town's history.
