In the late 1800s, Ellijay saw a boom in railroad expansion into the southern Blue Ridge Mountains, and with that boom came growth. Today, these wonderfully quaint towns of Ellijay and East Ellijay, both filled with antique shops, galleries, dining and a variety of lodging, brim with historical sites and architecture.
