Fargo, incorporated in 1992, is in close proximity to the Okefenokee Swamp. In 2007, the Bugaboo Scrub Fire crept uncomfortably close to the town, but fortunately, Fargo escaped damage.

Fargo is also home to the Stephen C. Foster Skate Park.
