Millen, incorporated September 30, 1881, is the county seat for Jenkins County. Residents originally called the city "Seven-Nine" or "Old 79" because of its close proximity to Savannah.
Magnolia Springs Park, located just outside of Millen, provides nature and hiking trails, fishing and swimming areas, and picnic facilities. This 948-acre state park takes its name from the crystal clear spring that puts out 9 million gallons of clear, cold water every day.
