After the Civil War, Senoia saw the completion of the Savannah, Griffin and North Alabama Railroad, which crossed through the town. With the railroad's support, Senoia started shipping out agricultural products such as cotton and peaches, and the town grew in the years following. Senoia officially incorporated on December 12, 1866.
Today, with its collection of architectural treasures, most of Senoia comprises a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. Much of the city's charming downtown dates from the turn of the 20th century.
