Between January 1 and April 1, you should renew registration for your corporation, limited liability company or limited partnership with the Secretary of State.
- Although you can submit a hard copy of your renewal, electronic filing is both faster and more convenient than paper filing.
- To renew your registration online, you'll need to have available your control number, a valid email address and all mailing addresses for corporate officers.
- Regular annual registration costs $50; if you'd like to speed the registration, you can pay $100 for faster processing.
- Coordinate with others at your workplace. Make sure that you're the only one in charge of renewing the registration. You won't want to pay the registration fee twice.
If you need to update information about your company's address or its officers, file a new annual registration. Keep in mind, though, that even if you file multiple registrations in one year you'll still need to register again the next year by April 1.
