How do I get a copy of my military service record?

If your Home of Record was listed as Georgia, you may call 404-656-5940 for assistance in obtaining a free copy of your Form DD 214. Otherwise, you may visit the National Archives to request a free copy of your DD Form 214.

What are compensation benefits, and how do I apply?

When veterans suffer from disabilities sustained during their military service, they can apply for financial assistance, or compensation benefits. Generally, the degree of disability determines compensation for the loss of working time. Find your nearest GDVS field office to get help with the application process.
