Georgia Regional Transportation Authority

The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) is a state-level authority that addresses mobility and air quality in metro Atlanta. In 2017, GRTA combined with the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) to jointly provide the services of both state authorities. As such, all functions for both authorities are combined under the staff and leadership of SRTA.

GRTA collaboratively leads Georgia’s effort to set clear expectations and specific goals for the performance of the state’s transportation network. GRTA addresses mobility and air quality in metro Atlanta as well as serving as the Governor’s voice for strategic direction in transportation planning for Georgia’s most populous region. GRTA’s core businesses are reducing congestion and improving mobility through transportation performance management and operating regional commuter transit, including Xpress coach service.
