April 24, 2012
Vegetables at farmers market

The month of May brings the beginning of the farmer’s market season and the ability for Georgians to buy locally grown and raised goods. Fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy products and more are available from May to November, allowing consumers to eat fresh and inexpensive food while supporting the local economy.

The State of Georgia has a large number of thriving community farmer's markets, which are often operated by non-profits or local governments. For a complete list of Georgia’s farmers markets and more information, visit the Georgia Department of Agriculture.
