Movie set and crew in the city.

Georgia has been the set for hundreds of films, commercials, photo shoots, music videos, television shows and series. The state’s diverse demographics, geography, moderate climate, production resources, and financial incentives have made it a desirable location for many producers.

In FY 2011 alone, television networks, Hollywood studios, production companies and independent producers invested more than $689.3 million in Georgia. The economic impact of those investments and projects handled by the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office were approximately $2.4 billion.

Georgia is one of the top 5 production destinations in the country.  Recent films shot in the state include Footloose, Joyful Noise, Wanderlust, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, American Reunion, The Three Stooges, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Fast 5, and X-Men: First Class. Television series that are also shooting in the state, include The Walking Dead, Teen Wolf, Single Ladies, Auction Kings, Necessary Roughness, Vampire Diaries, and Drop Dead Diva.

Through the gained production popularity, over 25,000 Georgia residents are employed in entertainment industries, including 11,000 full-time equivalent positions.
