Legislative Session Starts Today

January 14, 2013
The gold dome of the Georgia Capitol stands in contrast to the blue sky.

The legislative session starts today with promises of debate about ethics reform, renewal of the hospital bed tax and funding for education.

Several legislators have already prefiled bills and resolutions for consideration, and throughout the 40-day session, you can learn how to track this legislation. To hear legislators speak in-depth about particular bills, follow Georgia Public Broadcasting's Prime Time Lawmakers and reference the session calendar. You can also contact your representatives and your senators to voice your concerns or share your interests.

If you'll be driving to the Capitol at any point during the session, you can park at one of the public decks and grab a bite to eat at the local cafeterias.
