Last Days to File State Income Taxes

April 10, 2013
Georgia's Form 500 guides state taxpayers.

Next Monday, April 15, taxpayers across the country will review electronic filings and flood post offices to send in federal and state taxes. If you still need to complete your Georgia taxes, keep these tips in mind:

  • Read filing requirements for full-year residents, part-year residents and military personnel.
  • Electronic filing streamlines return processing. Generally, when you file online, you'll receive your refund by direct deposit within 15 days. Check to see if you qualify for free electronic filing.
  • If you'd rather send your forms by mail, download the booklet of instructions, Form 500 and Form 500EZ.
  • After you've sent your taxes, check your refund status at the Georgia Tax Center.
