A boat docks at Florence Marina State Park.

This Saturday, National Get Outdoors Day, outdoors enthusiasts will head out to cave, hike, kayak and swim at parks all over the country. Whether you're new to the outdoors life, or you're a longtime parks supporter, get out to one of our nearly 50 state parks.

From the coastal beauty of Skidaway Island to the ruggedness of Cloudland Canyon, the state parks not only harbor endangered plants and wildlife but also preserve Georgia's culture and history.

To find out more, visit Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites, or to learn about national parks, visit the National Parks Service.
