New Georgia Encyclopedia Launches Redesign

August 15, 2013
Authoress & Journalist Margaret Mitchell types at her desk.

For Georgia history buffs around the state, few resources offer as much to read as the New Georgia Encyclopedia does. Publishing articles on a host of subjects from archaeology to sports, the encyclopedia pulls together professors, historians and researchers to share knowledge about what makes the state interesting and unique.

Giving readers even more to appreciate, the encyclopedia introduced its newly designed site earlier this week. The updated site comes complete with new articles, blog posts and guidance for teachers. Browse the site to read about Civil War battles, famous Georgia writers and the latest innovations in the state's biotech industry. If you're looking for particular information, search the site, or use the A-Z Index.

If you'd like to move beyond reading and start contributing to the encyclopedia, read the submission guidelines, and brainstorm what Georgia facts and stories you want to share.
