Georgia state employees and retirees have the opportunity to participate in the 2014 Open Enrollment process as of Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 through Friday, Nov. 8, 2013. With the help of the Georgia Department of Community Health, the health insurance benefits offered through the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) cover over 680,000 eligible employees, retirees and their families. In addition to SHBP, the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) helps provide Flexible Benefits for services such as dental, vision, life insurance and short and long term disability.

If you are employed by the state or if you retired from the state, you can complete the enrollment process online:

For more help, there are decision guides and rate information for both plans:

If you still have questions or concerns, check out some quick links from DOAS or read their blog for the most up-to-date information. We also recommend you talk to your supervisor, your Human Resources office, the Department of Community Health (State Health Benefit Plan) or the Department of Administrative Services.
