In the past few years, Georgia has become a hub for film and television businesses spanning commercials to feature films to television series. This surge of activity is largely due to the tax incentives that have been offered to major production companies since 2008.

Some of the major films and television shows to take advantage of the Georgia landscape during this tax break include The Hunger Games Trilogy, The Walking Dead, Trouble With the Curve and 42.

Some Georgia film tax incentives include:

  • Productions that qualify receive a 20% tax credit.
  • An additional 10% credit is given for placing a Georgia logo in your film title or credits.
  • Free location scouting assistance is offered.

With $3.3 billion invested in 2013 alone, it is clear that the Georgia film business is booming now more than ever.

For more information about using Georgia as your filming location, check out the Filming In Georgia FAQ page and the Film Permits page featured on the Georgia Department of Economic Development website.
