Allergies On The Rise

This year’s allergy season is already shaping up to be a rough one for Georgia residents. High pollen counts can make life miserable for those who suffer from allergies, but the Atlanta Allergy Center offers many resources to pinpoint the causes and ease the symptoms of allergy victims.

The AAC website lists runny nose, watery eyes, post nasal drip, congestion and coughing as some of the common allergy symptoms people experience. To determine specifically what a patient is allergic to, the allergist may perform a skin test. This will rule out potential allergens as well as figure out what problematic reactions occur.

Treatment for allergies can come in a variety of different forms ranging from medications to immunotherapy. It is also suggested that you avoid triggers to your allergies by keeping windows closed in your home and showering after outdoor activities.

To locate a board certified allergist near you, check out the Atlanta Allergy Center list of locations and schedule an appointment today.
