Window Tint

The Department of Public Safety regulates the amount of tint you can have on your windows. Typically, your front windshield can only be tinted up to 32% in the top 6 inches, but the rest of the windshield cannot have any tint. The rear windshield and windows can have up to 32% tint and 20% light reflectance.

The amounts allowed may be changed for medical reasons. For a medical exemption to the window tint restrictions, send an application, doctor’s note and processing fee to the Department of Public Safety.

Commercial and government vehicles have altered specifications which you can find in the Official Code of Georgia.

This brings us to the end of our series on driver and vehicle laws. Feel free to look back through the previous posts to make sure you didn’t miss anything. Drive safely!
