U.S. Census in Georgia
Every 10 years, the federal census is conducted to count every resident in the United States. Preparations are under way in Georgia to conduct the next census in 2020.
Complete Count Committees are forming across the state to spread the word about the importance of the 2020 Census. Their primary goals are to motivate every resident in their community to complete the 2020 Census questionnaire, and to inform citizens that their information is federally protected by the U.S. Census Bureau and cannot be used against them.
Through coordinated efforts, these committees will work to ensure that every Georgian is counted in the 2020 Census, so that our state's population is proportionately represented in Congress and receives its fair share of federal assistance.
