    Adult Protective Services (APS) is the state entity charged with investigating all reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of older persons (65+) or adults (18+) with a disability who do not reside in long-term care facilities.

    It is the policy of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to comply fully with all federal, state, and local nondiscrimination laws and to operate in accordance with the rules and regulations governing Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity in housing and employment.

  • Notice Under the Americans with Disabilities Act

    The GDVS will make all reasonable modifications to policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all programs, services, and activities. For example, individuals with service animals are welcome in GDVS Veterans Service Field Offices, even when pets are generally prohibited.

    The Office of Disability Ombudsman promotes the safety, well-being, and rights of individuals with disabilities in Georgia. We work to resolve issues concerning any act, omission to act, practice, policy, or procedure that may adversely affect the safety, well-being, and rights of individuals with disabilities.
