If you do not want to contest the ticket, you must pay the fine and accept the penalty placed on your driving record.

    If your citation does not require a mandatory court appearance, you can resolve the case before your scheduled court date by accepting the penalty and paying the fine. Keep in mind that accepting the penalty is pleading guilty to the citation. If you pay before your court date, you will not be required to appear in court.

    To pay your traffic fine, you will need your citation number, court case number, or driver’s license number. You also will need a method of payment. Most courts offer payment options online, by phone, by mail, or in person.

      You can pay your traffic ticket online using the court’s or county’s website. If the court or county does not have a website, you can use the Judicial Council of Georgia’s centralized database to search traffic citations.

    • Pay by phone

      Contact the court to arrange for payment over the phone. Request proof of payment and keep it for your records.

    • Pay by mail

      Contact the court to arrange for payment. Request proof of payment and keep it for your records.

    • Pay in person

      Visit the courthouse during operating hours. Request proof of payment and keep it for your records.

  • Close Your Case

    After you pay the fine, the court will forward notice of the conviction to the Georgia Department of Driver Services. Any points associated with your citation shall be placed on your driving record and the case will be closed. See a list of offenses reported to the DDS.
