Renew at a Self-Service Kiosk (in some counties)
In some counties, you can renew your registration at a Self-Service Tag Kiosk. Kiosks use scanning and touchscreen technology and provide step-by-step instructions. Renew your registration and print your new registration and decal right at the kiosk.
To renew at a kiosk:
- Find the location and business hours of a Georgia MV Express Self-Service Tag Kiosk.
- Bring all required identifying information, documents, and fees to that kiosk.
- Scan the barcode on your renewal notice or type your license plate number. Enter the last four digits of your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the screen.
- Pay your taxes and fees via credit card or, where available, with cash.
- Receive your new printed registration and license plate decal (sticker).
-
Renew in person
To renew in person:
- Find the physical address, operating hours, and accepted payment types of your County Tag Office.
- Check your county's requirements for providing proof of liability insurance. Some counties or vehicles must also have proof of a passing emissions inspection. Check these requirements ahead of time to save yourself a return trip.
- Bring all required identifying information, documents, and fees to the office. Please note that some offices may list a different physical location and mailing address. Be sure you have the correct physical location for your visit.
- You may want to make copies of your documentation for your own records.
-
Renew by mail
To renew by mail:
- Follow the instructions on your registration renewal notice to renew by mail. If you did not receive your renewal notice, check with your County Tag Office, as you still must renew on time. Renewal instructions may vary by county.
- Mail all required payments, documents, and fees to the correct address for your county. Please note that some offices may list a different physical location and mailing address.
